Section #3 - BLOG NEWS UPDATES

The LAKE CHAMPLAIN BRIDGE over southern Lake Champlain at Crown Point has been demolished
due to erosion and unsafe conditions. Crossing into Vermont continues via ferry at Essex (NY)-Charlotte
(Vt), Plattsburgh-Grand Island ferry to Burlington, and Ticonderoga crossing for cars and larger vehicles
(at this time no buses). Located just south of the former Lake Champlain Bridge in Crown Point, this ferry will operate until a new bridge is constructed. Land route into Vermont is thru Lake George-Queensbury
via Rt. 149 east to Rt. 4 north to Whitehall and east to Fair Haven, north on Rt. 22A to Vergennes, north
on Rt. 7 to Burlington.
NOTE: Hayfield Quality Tours itineraries previously scheduled to use the Crown Point Bridge have been revised to best
suit the tour itinerary and timing.

The 2010 new show at LAKE GEORGE DINNER THEATRE is the regional premiere of OUR SON'S
WEDDING,
by Donna DeMatteo.   Sparks fly as an Italian-American plumber from the Bronx and his
strong-willed wife check into Boston’s Ritz-Carlton Hotel on the occasion of their son Michael’s wedding
- to another man!  The feisty couple discovers as much about their own marriage as they do about the unfamiliar and contemporary new world in which they find themselves.  It is a timely, hilarious, and
poignant new play. 43rd season of “fine dining and professional theatre entertainment.”
NOTE: Tour packages available thru Hayfield Quality Tours 518-798-1253.

COMMENTS FROM SOME OF OUR CLIENTS:

1000 ISLANDS
Everyone loved the trip, starting from Thompsons Resort, the 1000 Islands Sunset Cruise, Boldt Castle, Singer Castle, 1000 Islands Winery, and Tibbetts Lighthouse. A great 3-day tour. ......Kim Chronister, Tour Director, Red Lion Tours, Red Lion, PA.

LAKE GEORGE
All 56 of us loved to come to Lake George and Saratoga. The trip was great and the special surprises you provided were the perfect touch. See you next year! ...............................................Eleanor Spagnola, Tour Director, Marlboro Seniors, Marlboro, NY

LAKE GEORGE

The weather was beautiful, I couldn't ask for a more perfect 3 days. Thank you for all your help, and if we decide to do Lake George or the surrounding area again, I will definitely call you. Happy days!!!

1000 ISLANDS - KINGSTON - OTTAWA

Even in the blazing heat that week, the tour to Canada was outstanding. Starting with Alexandria Bay, the islands cruise, Boldt Castle and Riveredge Resort was a wonderful start. In Canada the step-on guide was magnificent and surprised us all with
her fascinating city of Kingston. Ottawa was as beautiful and clean as ever, and all the venues were outstanding. The best
was Chateau Montebello, an exquisite breathtaking hotel unlike any other. As usual, you put together a fun, informative, most unusual and memorable trip for our clients. Thank you. ........................Don Adams, Vice President, GeoDon Tours, Exeter, NH

TALKING QUILTS

“Thank you so much for your wonderful program on the Talking Quilts. We all know so much more about that time in history
now. Your quilts were just beautiful and told the story.
..................................................................................................Sandy Gardner, Burnt Hills United Methodist Women, Ballston Spa, NY

THE  BLAZE

“Everyone really enjoyed the Spook-tacular Mystery itinerary. You did a wonderful job (as usual).”
.................................................................................................................James Keogh, Owner, Olde New England Tours, Methuen, NH

HUDSON  VALLEY  SAMPLER
“I had nothing but good words on our trip - everyone had a great time. We certainly enjoyed the trip. The group, of course, is particularly still boasting about the meals the first two nights and how absolutely outrageous the food was. Overall a great success trip and we thank you for that!” ........Angela Hahn, Assistant Director, Plattsburgh Sr. Citizen Council, Plattsburgh, NY

ADIRONDACKS
“I wanted to send a quick note to thank you for a great trip and especially enjoyed your guide who was organized, in control, shared great stories, and knew when to let the group rest their ears. The food was especially awesome. I am sure I gained
10 pounds. It is too bad the weather did not let the foliage show its stuff. It was very pretty as it was. I really cannot think of anything that I would have cut out of the trip or that we missed. I hope we can travel together again. Give us suggestions for future trips.”...................................................................................................Lloyd Davidson, President, First Bank Kansas, Salina, KS

ADIRONDACK  BALLOON  FESTIVAL
Wanted to thank you for arranging such a wonderful tour for the Adirondack Balloon Festival. Everything was just perfect and
our group had a great time. In addition to the balloons, the visit to Garnet Mines was a highlight for the group as well. Over the years, every tour that you have arranged for us has been top-notch and it is always a pleasure to have your guides. They are
so considerate and caring for our people which is so unusual in today’s society. We always have a lot of laughs and good
times. Thanks again and we look forward to our 2010 tours with you. .Don Adams, Vice President, GeoDon Tours, Exeter, NH

TRAINING  AROUND  THE  ADIRONDACKS
Thank you so much for all the time, effort and caring that you put in on this tour. You made so many good choices. I surely
hope we cross paths on a future tour. ..........................................Dianne Cavender, Group Leader, Lamers Tours, Cincinnati, OH

SAGUENAY, QUEBEC
Everyone loved your guide. She did such a good job, very attentive and conscientious. We enjoyed all three hotels and all the included meals. Traveling via gondola to Montmorency Falls dining room was a fun experience! Changing of the guards ceremony was a highlight of the trip. The whale watch was interesting, but we did not really see many whales but it was a gorgeous sunny day, with a nice breeze on the water. Manoir Richelieu was everyone's favorite hotel! Many went next door to make a donation to the Casino. So many of our passengers are people who have enjoyed trips with Hayfield in the past. We were thrilled with the way you handled our arrangements. Thanks for another wonderful tour.

LAKE GEORGE CLASS TRIP
My thanks on making our recent Eighth Grade Class Trip a huge success. Your attention to details and great organizational skills are a major reason for this. Having to accommodate 6 buses with 287 people went very smoothly. Since this trip was planned as a last minute replacement for our annual Washington DC trip, you were able to make all necessary plans on very short notice. Not easy to do with a group our size. Your ability to make last minute itinerary changes was very helpful to me.
You were always there when needed and even when not needed. It was amazing with a group of our size that we were on
time for every stop we made during all 3 days. The hotel accommodations and meals were great and all handled my large
group very efficiently. Again, thanks for all your efforts in making this a very successful trip. Please feel free to use me as a reference if ever needed. ....................................................John L. Sullivan, Class Trip Advisor, Keene Middle School, Keene, NH

PENNSYLVANIA BUS ASSOCIATION ANNUAL MEETING
Thank you for all the tours, guides and historians. They were knowledgeable and entertaining. Tours were "all" well planned
and very well organized. We especially enjoyed the Tuesday tour to Adirondack Park and Lake Placid. All the meals were delicious. Thank you for all your hard work to make the PBA Annual Meeting a very pleasant and memorable experience.
............................................................................................................................................ Pennsylvania Bus Association, Harrisburg, PA

LAKE GEORGE SENIOR CLASS TRIP
Thank you so much for making the Senior Class trip so personal and special. We all had a fabulous time and were really impressed with how much you cared about our trip and your concern in making it special.
.......................................................................................................Marcy Volansky, Tour Coordinator, Benton High School, Benton, PA

LAKE GEORGE
Just wanted to express my appreciation for the excellent service you provided me and my group. We all loved the information
you provided and appreciated the features you brought to our attention about your wonderful city, plus all we never heard
about John Brown and Solomon Northup. Thanks so very much for your kindness. It is becoming all too rare these days to
find someone that goes to such great lengths to satisfy its tourists.
........................................................................................................................Louise Barlow, President, White Rose Club, Brooklyn, NY

WRITERS FAMTOUR
It was a pleasure meeting you when you introduced our group of travel writers to the Lake George area. Although a whirlwind tour, it was most informative. You definitely are passionate about your area and all it has to offer. Thanks for sharing your knowledge of the area with us. ...................................................................................................Lisa Halversen, Writer, Colchester, VT

LAKE GEORGE
We wish to thank you for the most enjoyable trip to Lake George and Vermont. You were so very good to us and we enjoyed
every bit of the trip. You did a fantastic job which made our trip so successful. ........Mary Hindman, Travel Stars, Kirkwood, PA

1000 ISLANDS LIGHTHOUSES, CASTLES, CRUISES
Your kindness will never be forgotten, from all of the "gang" on Coach 207.
............................................................................................................
........Emmitt Kessinger, Escort, Wolf Bus Lines, York Springs, PA

LAKE GEORGE MILITARY REUNION
Thank you for all that you did for us for the Pavlic Reunion. We all had a great time, thanks to you and fond memories. ...................................................................................................................................Cathie and Hal Walker, U.S.S. Pavlic, Davidson, NC

LAKE GEORGE SENIOR CLASS TRIP
Just a note of thanks for your patience and help you gave me in planning for our Lake George weekend. Your guide was one
of a kind and the seniors are still talking about the trip. They want to return to Lake George again.
.............................................................................................Millicent, Class Trip Advisor, Hartford Neighborhood Center, Hartford, CT

Our group thoroughly enjoyed their stay in your area and all commented on what an excellent local guide they had. Every one
of the comment sheets mentioned how much they enjoyed and appreciated the information provided and the time spent.
Thank you for a job well done. ..........................................................Kim Chronister, Tour Manager, Red Lion Tours, Red Lion, PA

LAKE GEORGE
I would like to thank you for doing an exceptional tour for my group. They thoroughly enjoyed viewing Lake George and Glens Falls. I would also like to thank you for taking the time out of your schedule to take us for an extra hour at no charge up along
side the lake to the Sagamore. Thanks for everything. ....................................Nicholas Costa, Collette Vacations, Pawtucket, RI

LAKE GEORGE
A report from Bob Craven, Group Leader, said "The entire trip to Lake George was great. This was our group's ninth tour and ranked in the top 3 with Nashville and Mackinac Island. Our tour guide was the best we have ever had. The tour exceeded
our expectations. We knew we would enjoy the races, boat ride and dinner theatre. We had heard of the beauty of the area
but did not realize the charm, beauty and history of Saratoga, the historical sites within Adirondack Park, and the saga of
John Brown. Who would expect such outstanding restaurants and tours at Victorian sites. Really impressive. Lake Placid
was great too. The entire tour was so educational. Our guide was a walking encyclopedia. She kept us hopping and very
interested. Her enthusiasm, sincerity and consideration for the members of the group made us all feel special."
.....................................................................................................................................................
.............Grand American Tours, Media, PA

LAKE GEORGE RV RALLEY
Everyone was quite impressed with the wonderful tour you gave them. They all commented on the great day they had. Would recommend your tours to anyone that asked. ..................................Preston VanPatten, NY Capital Rogers Rangers, Albany, NY

LAKE GEORGE
Thanks for the great trip. .....................................................................................................................Croswell Tours, Williamsburg, OH

ADIRONDACKS
Recenty our group from Woodcrest Villa Retirement Community was on your tour to the Adirondacks. Reports received from
both the Tour Leader and the passengers were lavish in their praise for the guide service which you provided. From a tour planner's point of view, that type of service was certainly very much appreciated. Job well done.
......................................................................................................M. Douglas Enck, Domestic Tour Manager, MTS Tours, Ephrata, PA

CANADA
Thank you for being such a good and pleasant guide on our trip to Canada. You helped make our first tour a memorable and wonderful experience. We are having such fun sharing the Canada Tour with friends. Some highlights were Niagara Falls,
1000 Islands Cruise in Alexandria Bay, Museum of Civilization in Ottawa. (I should not have started this list because I really enjoyed it all). Actually, I guess I can cover everything by saying, "O Canada! Eh!".
.........................................................................................Lois Williams, Tour Leader, United Planters Bank Spry Club, LaMarque, TX

LAKE GEORGE
Our group took a tour to the Lake George area. Your tour guide had all the ingredients that make a successful tour (other
than weather, health, and events). We thoroughly enjoyed the professional and personal manner she displayed. It was her "mothering", managing, and mentoring that made this an outstanding pleasurable experience. We wanted you to know that
she is an admirable credit to your organization. ................................Edward Kolb, The Elder Travelers, AARP, Westminster, MD

LAKE GEORGE
Thank you so much for a delightful trip. It was one of our very best ones. You do put so much into your job. ...................................................................................................................................................Robert Regan, Arsenal AARP, Pittsurgh PA

LAKE GEORGE
Thank you for all the courteous attention you showed our group. The accommodations, meals, sights, and boat trip sure
made a most memorable trip. You made all of us feel welcome to your part of New York State. You are so knowledgeable
about your area. Sure would recommend Hayfield Tours.
